“It can be a very tough thing for us to treat,” he said. “It can be hard to talk about sex without first talking to a counselor or talking to your partner.”
The condition can affect many relationships, and sexual difficulties are one of the most common reasons for sex.
ED affects about 2.2 million men in the U. S., said Dr. Hirschfeld, professor of urology at Northwestern University, who was not involved in the study.
Viagra, the first FDA-approved ED medication to treat ED, was also the top choice of treatment in the U. S. Dr. Hirschfeld said he believes most men prefer to use Viagra because of the increased effectiveness.
But Viagra’s side effects can be more severe than ED, Dr. Hirschfeld said. He said most men have trouble tolerating the drug, but some can tolerate it if they take it daily.
“I know men with ED and the majority of them are satisfied with the results,” Dr.
